Yeah, this has been a long time coming, but I've been busy with school so give me a break. And part of that work for school has been writing my script for my comic. And I'm quite proud of it. My teacher pointed out a few things that could be improved, but gave me very encouraging words and said that, despite being unfinished, it was the best project he read that semester. And it should be. I've been working on it for about two years now. Mostly taking notes and sketches, and short pieces of dialog here and there, but I sat down and refined it a bit thanks to my Senior Project class. And thanks to that class and his suggestions, I'll refine it even more. And my work on this particular script has given me a spat of creativity and I'm working on concepts for other work that I feel are about ready to work on.
But this brings me back to what I felt like my biggest problem was even two years ago... what to do about artists? Well, considering I've been letting this idea percolate and grow for so long, and my teachers and peers praised it, I'm feeling pretty confident and I've got my eyes on a few artists. Each of them has their own style, with their own particular strengths, but I feel like any of them could help contribute to the voice of the piece. I'll send out a few e-mails (one at a time, I don't want two different people to accept and then have to turn one down and ruin what might become a good working-relationship).
So, here's to hoping that by this time next year I'll have authored more than just a few pages of work.
